07/08 Val'Anyr fixed
Quote from: Vaneras
We managed to get in a hotfix today that allows periodic healing ticks that were going to overheal entirely to go ahead and fire. Previously they did not fire. This means that effects that were able to proc from HoT ticks that did some healing can now also proc from HoT ticks that overheal completely. The most notable such effect is that Val'anyr's absorb shield should now work as advertised. All these ticks should now appear in the combat log as well, allowing you to get a fuller sense of your raw healing output from all sources.
Sorry that we did not comment before now. Given the nature of the bug, we didn't want to promise anything until we were sure we could fix it.
Design intent on Totem-stomping macros
Quote from: Ghostcrawler
Blizzard does not like the gameplay of totem-stopping macros and we intend to stop it. Destroying a totem should be a viable strategy but it should be a choice and require some effort on the part of the destroyer. Making a macro to have your pet attack the totem without having to target the totem first does not in our minds constitute enough effort.
This will require a technical change that we don't have in place yet. We will announce when we are making that change when we know for sure that the change is going live.
At this time, we don't have a problem with mouseover macros. They require some player attention to look out for totems and target them. That's a lot more investment than the macros that just have pets kill totems whenever they appear.
We're not trying to prevent killing totems from being a viable strategy. We just don't want it to be too automated either.
We will revisit this philosophy depending upon what kinds of macros crafty players come up with.
Faction-change Service
You'll have to select a race within the new faction, and the choices are dependent upon your character class.
Dungeons and Raids
Trial of the Crusader: Boss unlocks based on weekly maintenance, not kills
Unlocking the bosses pertains only to weekly maintenance. Right now one raid boss is available. Next Tuesday there will be two available, and so on. To unlock Trial of the Grand Crusader, at least one person in the raid has to have cleared Trial of the Crusader. This person can speak to an NPC to unlock Trial of the Grand Crusader and the tribute run.
Crusader title restriction for new vendor
The items offered by the Argent Crusade quartermaster are on par with a lot of items that can be purchased with various emblems. In some cases, as with the heirloom items, they're the same as those offered for emblems. The idea of the Argent Tournament is to provide the solo player access to good loot, great rewards and a host of heirloom items on par with loot that otherwise requires at least 4 other players to obtain.
So it's a limiting factor. If you want to play solo rather than run dungeons or raids, we'll give you a chance to get many of the items available to those who do frequently run dungeons or raids. The trade-off though is that you have to commit to the Argent Tournament and prove yourself to be a Crusader in the fight against the Lich King in order to have access to the rewards the Argent Crusade has to offer.
