After being a hardcore World of Warcraft player for a long time and after getting frustrated at not being able to make gold easily enough, I thought I would write a short guide to help other players.

First off, when you are starting a new character or just starting to play for the first time I would advise that you pick 2 gathering professions as early as possible and level them up as you level your character. Personally I have found that skinning and mining are the easiest and most profitable to level.

Also it is very important early on not to go spending your hard earned gold on upgrades you just don't need yet. Its really pointless buying a blue item at level 30 for example, as in a few levels you will find green items which are better. Personally I wont start buying blues for my guys until at least level 70.

To help ensure you make the most of the Auction House I would advise you get yourself the Auctioneer add-on. This add-on can track market values of items and will help ensure you get the most for each item you sell. You can find Auctioneer at many of the add-on sites.

Another add-on which help you make a little more gold is a vendor auto sell add-on. This will basically automatically vend trash or gray items every time you open a vendor window.
